| Description: | Working together with 115 faith communities in San Diego, we open our parish hall doors to homeless individuals and families for two weeks each winter. The Interfaith Shelter Network and the Community Resource Center run the program that allows qualified clients to stay in the program for up to 8 weeks. Since 1986 the St. James-St. Leo Community has provided over 300 people with a safe, warm place to sleep along with 3 meals/day. Volunteers also provide encouragement and stay overnight to lend support. We invite you to participate in this faith-based program that provides an opportunity for homeless individuals and families to move toward self-sufficiency. Sign-ups are held in early December – watch for notifications! |
